  1. I don’t know – I look at the guys in my football team, all around my age 25-30, never followed the NSL and don’t have ties to any other local football teams. They love playing soccer but no matter what I try, just can’t get them to come to a game. Then I have other mates who also play football, avidly follow an EPL team who they have never seen in real life, and they also refuse to ever come to a game. That is the challenge for Sydney FC and the FFA, to somehow engage those people.

  2. yeh I think alot of football supporters in sydney are still more with their ethnic clubs, its probably going to take another 20 years of ALeague and conssitant good years from Sydney FC for a bigger fan base to build up, I think by the end of this decade FC will be regularly pulling in over 20,000 a game which will be great, more than enough to survive, and hopefully the same with the rest of the aleague.

  3. Couldn’t agree more – just wish people gave it a chance and came along to check out a couple of games.

  4. I think the quality is slowly improving, I see alot more skill in attack now, than in the first season, we are probably as a comp as good as the english champion ship league now.

  5. I walked in just before half time, and the atmosphere at the end was incredible, I said we wud win this 3-2 when we went down 2-0 and I was right, also ffs sydney supporters turn up, 10,000 for a 4.5 million city is just down right pathetic, this team needs you and is bleeding out of its arse to try and win, so please all u lounge chair lizards and club dwellers, rise up and come out and help our team win, we should be pulling in 20,000 plus every home game from now on.

  6. being at the ground when he was lining up to take it, you could hear a pin drop… followed by alot of cheering, great scenes good for the A-league

  7. Amazing Scenes! Shame the video only picks up about 1% of the actual atmosphere inside the stadium in that moment. Same as watching on TV – just doesn’t come close to being at the game. I get frustrated by the eurosnobs who constantly turn their back on the A-League. Obviously it isn’t the quality of the EPL, but it’s always improving and provides moments of sheer brilliance. How much excitement can you get cheering at your TV at 2 o’clock in the morning? I’ll take the live atmosphere any day!
