Melbourne Victory knocked out from the A-League finals
The season of Melbourne Victory in the A-League is over after having suffered a loss against Brisbane Road when they faced off at Suncorp Stadium on April 15th.
It actually was Melbourne Victory the team that took the lead through Besart Berisha as he scored the opening goal of the game at the 86th minute but Brisbane Roar responded quickly after as Matt McKay tied the game up 1-1 and Thomas Broich sealed the victory for Roar.
Brisbane Roar will have to face off with Western Sydney on April 24 and the winner from that match is going to reach the grand finals of the A-League while Melbourne Victory’s season is finished.
It didn’t take long for the head coach of Melbourne Victory to voice his disappointment as Kevin Muscat said: “I don’t think we deserved that tonight. We were very good. We were the better team but it can be a cruel game sometimes and it’s certainly one of those nights tonight. For the season to finish like it has for us tonight, I’m gutted. I’m shattered for the group. I don’t think I need to convince you that we didn’t deserve that tonight. We were very good,”
The Australian coach believes that his side deserved the victory and should have progressed to the next round of the Hyundai A-League but late minute goals turned things around and Melbourne Victory was knocked out from the competition.
Kevin Muscat’s team are not going through the best of times as they lost against Brisbane Roar and got knocked out from the A-League and the Australian manger to wanted his squad to recover from this defeat by overcoming Shanghai FC in the Asian Champions League but unfortunately for Kevin Muscat, they sustained a 3-1 defeat.
